DAWN OF THE IMPURITY DESIGN - INDEPENDANT (2002)
I think I saw this band listed next to "Ravage" or "Execute" or maybe "Bulldoze" in the dictionary. Christ, what a barrage of unbelievably raw violence these dudes concoct.
With elements of crust and grindcore mixed into the overall blackened death metal atmosphere of these 11 apocalyptic visions, the resulting catastrophic punch-in-the-nuts equals purely vile music. Ear-bleeding cackling vocals are matched up and tag-teamed with the ultra-low grunt vocals that run in and out of each other for the album's entirety. "From The Hand Of Man", "Beneath A Poisoned Sky", "Suffocating In The Synthetic" and "A Creation Through Psychosis" are several of the CD's highlights, ultimately combining the destructive forces of Gorgoroth and Absu with Logical Nonsense and Extreme Noise Terror, resulting in a disgusting pile of dead bodies.
The band also contains two former members of the band Sloth. $10.00, it's more than worth it.

All I can say about Nova Scotia's Thy Flesh Consumed and their debut album Dawn Of The Impurity Design is that they are probably the most brutal and heaviest act in the Maritimes, and this album proves it. Favorite tracks include the grabbing opener "From The Hand Of Man", and the title track and long time favorite "Dawn Of Impurity Design", it's doomy and it makes you feel like there will be no tomorrow, there will be no tonight, there will be no this afternoon, just enjoy your morning and then you will die. Thy Flesh Consumed are grindy and monotonous for the most part, but it's done properly, musicianship is just where it should be and the songs range from mid-tempo to really speedy gruesomeness. The lyrical themes are surprisingly environmental and anti-christian which kind of wraps the whole thing up with a nice bow. Another thing that must be mentioned is screamer Peter Mestre could probably propel a fair sized jet engine aircraft with growls and shrieks. I've seen him live, the ground shakes when he screams, I shit you not.

Good production. Cool liner notes. Amazing CD. If you're a fan of either grind, death metal, black metal, even hardcore... chances are you will like this CD. 'Dawn of the Impurity Design' is one of the best albums to come out of Nova Scotia.... period. It's not technical genious, the riffs are simple, the drums pretty much simply grind throughout 75% of the disc, but when you mix these things up with monsterous vocals and completely misanthropic lyrics, you've got the making of a kick ass, in your face onslaught of destruction.
There aren't really anymore adjectives I can think of to describe how addictive this CD can be. My faves on this one are "Dawn of the Impurity Design", "Apathy Level Increase", "From the Hand of Man", "Mind Collapse" and "Burial For Your God". This CD is not available anymore, so if you don't have it... sucks to be you.
